The Vexmen of Brandywine Robotics

2014-2015 Event Results

2014 – 2015 Vexmen Primary Events
11/22/14: Haverford Stampede, Haverford, PA
This is an optional event for the Vexmen as most did not yet have a robot ready to roll. An early event typically has many robots partially built and gives teams ideas on how they will need to improve their designs. Many times this is the first time the robot even runs. As the game play starts, you get an idea of what you thought might be the key to the game versus what teams actually do to score points.

The Vexmen played against teams from Norristown, Haverford, Calvert Hall, Parkland, St Joes Prep, and York. Calvert Hall scored an impressive 15 point autonomous in the Programming Skills and still ranks igher than any Pennsylvania team.

The following teams represented the Vexmen:
80X – X-23
81J – Juggernaut
81W – Wolverine
91C – Cyclops

91C: Cyclops – Tournament Champions
80X: X-23 – Tournament Runner Up

1/24/15 - 9AM - 4PM - Vexmen Middle School Event, Downigntown, PA
The Vexmen middle schoolers braved the snow and held a middle school only event at the 6th grade center for its second event in three weeks. This event is just for middle school teams and lets them play on even footing with kids their own ages. Unfortunately due to the snow, the only teams playing were Vexmen. This resulted in fewer teams but as this was the third competition of the season for the Vexmen, many more teams have started scoring on the higher goals and multi-point autonomous routines have been seen.

Colossus and Mercury combined to form a powerful alliance to take the tournament champion spot and Nightcrawler – 80N – took the Excellence award for the event.

The two Vexmen middle school teams were team 80N Nightcrawler and team 80Y Cypher; the high school team representing the Vexmen was team 81M Mystique.

Team 80Y Cypher took home multiple honors at the 2015 Vex Robotics World Championship held at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Team 80Y earned the Middle School Opportunity Division Champions but then lost to Singapore allied teams in the Middle School Tournament finals for overall world championship.
