New Home For The Vexmen in Eagle

We have finally secured some space for this year where we can build and not carry 17 teams worth of parts in cars every week to STEM Academy.
It has taken us a bit more time that we would have liked, but now that we have a building we can have more build nights and even set up a field. We can catch up before the competitions start in earnest in January.
We can thank Scott Featherman for finding this opportunity for the club and the owners of the building Eagle Nursery. The building is for rent and in the event someone does rent it we will need to find a new home but with luck we have use…

First Vexmen Kids Meeting September 28th

We had a successful parents meeting tonight (9/27) at the old Waterloo warehouse on Creamery Way. Bob went over some of the changes for this year, and a brief overview of Vex for the newcomers. It seems everyone found the building just fine so hope to see everyone again tomorrow.

Dues are increased this year to $200 due to the need to buy 10 new robots and Cortexes.
We are capping the number of kids to 100 due to logistics, cost, and space considerations.
We will be limiting teams to 5 kids per team as it gives each kid more of an opportunity to have hands on participation with the creation, programming, and driving of the robot in competitions.

Parents Meeting Moved to Sept 27th

Sorry for the late notice.
The initial parents meeting has been moved to Tuesday, September 27th at 7pm at 427 Creamery Way, Exton.

The first meeting for the kids will be Wednesday September 28th from 6:30 – 7:30 PM. and is tentatively scheduled for the same location.
I apologize for the late notice. The main reason for this is we are still organizing the location for the club this year. We have several options but we have are still hoping to work out a space with the school district. I will have final details on this next week.
I understand how difficult it is to manage a schedule with kids in school this time of year….

2011 – 2012 Vexmen Parent Meeting September 21st

The 2011 – 2012 season is about ready to begin. We’ll be defending our title as the best middle school robot club in the world.
We are no longer in the (now former) Downingtown Area School District building on Boot Rd. More details on where we will meet are forthcoming.

A parental informational session will be held on September 21st at 7pm. Exact location is TBD.
Student build nights will start on September 28th at 7pm.
Teams will be limited to 5 team members each and overall club size will be capped to 100 due to space and expense.
