Looking For 2016 – 2017 Online Design Challenge Entries

Each year Vex offers a set of online design challenges that allow students to explore CAD design, making a fun second robot, tearing apart a piece of electronics, and teaching others about robotics. These challenges are due January 11, 2017 and can take some time to put together a quality production. The Christmas break is the perfect time to put these together as a team.
If you think you may get to Vex World Championships, two online design submissions are required to qualify for the Excellence Award. Girls: Register for SWE Invent It Build It 10/29

Here is a great opportunity aimed at our girl roboteers. The Society of Women Engineers national conference is being held in Philadelphia from 10/26 – 10/29 at the Convention Center in downtown Philadelphia.
As part of the conference the Invent It Build It program allows middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12) students to participate in an all day workshop from 9:30am to 3:30pm. The Invent It. Build It! program exposes girls to design process and women engineers through a series of activities. Parents get to learn about colleges, scholarships, other clubs/programs.

Vexmen 2016 Season Under Way

It’s another great year for the Vexmen as we increase in size even more this year with 31 VRC teams and 5 IQ teams to bring our total to over 160 roboteers.

Above is the state of payments so received to date. We have received 76% of the payments to date from roboteers. Already we have written some large checks for team registrations and some large parts orders. To fully stock each team with Cortexes, Vex batteries, Joysticks, Tools, and programming cables, we will need the income to purchase these.

Vexmen Registration Through Sept 7, 2016

It is that time of year again, time to start the new Vexmen season! This is the time of year we start opening our doors and making new teams on the Vexmen. We run two Vex competitions across middle school and high school grades – Vex VRC and Vex IQ.
We will have two information sessions on September 6th and 7th at the Marsh Creek Sixth Grade Center cafeteria. Please choose a night that matches when you will be able to come on a regular basis. Additionally, please fill out a registration form so we can better figure out capacity.
