Girls: Register for SWE Invent It Build It 10/29

Here is a great opportunity aimed at our girl roboteers. The Society of Women Engineers national conference is being held in Philadelphia from 10/26 – 10/29 at the Convention Center in downtown Philadelphia.

As part of the conference the Invent It Build It program allows middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12) students to participate in an all day workshop from 9:30am to 3:30pm. The Invent It. Build It! program exposes girls to design process and women engineers through a series of activities. Parents get to learn about colleges, scholarships, other clubs/programs.

You must register for this event and I expect it will fill up so please do so soon. Cost is $7.00 per student and $5.00 per adult. Lunch is included. You will end up paying more for parking or the train than you will for the event. Registration is scheduled to end 10/20 but please sign up before that in case it fills up.

College students and professionals from many companies will be attending. Vexmen alumni Miranda M will be attending Olin College of Engineering. This is a second generation SWE conference attendee as her mother, Robin, attended SWE conferences in the 1990’s as president of the Penn State SWE chapter.
